Cynthia Zhe
Who I am and what I do:
Cindy Zhe, retired Pre-K teacher, volunteer librarian, and substitute teacher
Why I love St. Agnes School:
Children are HAPPY to come here! This is a place where children are respected, loved, and cherished, and they respond in kind. We live the Golden Rule here, and the small school environment helps to build lasting relationships with students and parents. Our families have a vested interest in the school and are tremendously supportive of it, while our children learn that things worth having take work and commitment.
What I love to do, both in and out of school:
I love to read, sew, and discover nature. I like to bring that excitement and curiosity into the lessons and activities that I teach in the library. I enjoy singing in choirs, and I am a member of the St. Agnes Church traditional choir and the Festival Choir at SUNY Geneseo. I am a trustee for the Avon Free Library, a member of the Avon Garden Club, and serve on the St. Agnes School Foundation.
In addition, I am a member of the Beta Tau Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, where I served as president for the years 2016-18. Delta Kappa Gamma is a vibrant group of Key Women Educators from this area; these strong, creative, active women are very inspiring to me.
Other favorite things:
The Beatles. The music of the 50’s – 90’s (after that it gets a bit crazy).
My grandchildren, Henry, Helen, Addie, Freddie and Willa.
