Who I am and what I do:

Why I work here:
The wonderful atmosphere and school family drew me in while I was student teaching in third grade; I was hooked! There is an atmosphere of respect, kindness, and compassion. I felt this sense of belonging and love in my six weeks of student teaching!
My favorite thing to teach:
I love the adventures in Kindergarten, every day is something new. The constant reminder that these small children are amazing little people. They have such innocence, profound insights, brilliant ideas, compassion, and spontaneity. Being flexible is a huge asset in the Kindergarten classroom; you never know what might be coming next!
What I do when I’m not at school:
I am in both bowling and golf leagues, play pickup soccer games, enjoy learning new things, gardening, and reading. Competed on the Kansas City Barbeque Society circuit for ten years with my husband, finishing 15th in the country at the national championships!

• Book: Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
• Song: Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd or anything Billy Joel or Bob Seger
