Ariana Mennucci
Favorite thing to teach and why:
I love teaching children... really of any age and in any content area, but if forced to choose my favorites, kindergarten age and the subject of science would be my favorites. I love kindergarteners because of their approach to life and learning; everything is new and fresh. Experiences are met with enthusiasm and are literally seen with the eyes of a child. Each new experience brings laughs and squeals of excitement that cannot be replicated at any of the other grade levels I have taught. Setbacks are overlooked quickly and the growth that is made in a school year is astronomical. The joy that fills a kindergarten day is inspiring and up lifting. Regardless of grade level, I feel so blessed to be able to teach students and work with families and staff here at St. Agnes. It has been a career and life-changing opportunity for me.
What I do outside of school:
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my husband and our four children. We like to have movie nights and game nights. We love swimming in our pool or playing in our yard. The kids and I like to make cannoli, pizzelles, or homemade gnocchi together. We have fun on the occasional exciting adventure. When I have an uncommon, but much appreciated spare moment just for myself, I love reading, playing tennis, scrapbooking, baking, sewing, and sleeping in!
Other Favorite things:
My favorite authors are Jodi Picoult, James Patterson, and Lisa Scottoline. My favorite TV Show is I Love Lucy and my favorite color is blue. My favorite candies are Peanut Butter M&M's and Reese's Cups. My favorite foods are eclairs, gnocchi or the homemade spaghetti from Little Venice Restaurant in Binghamton, NY. My favorite tennis players are Boris Becker and Stefi Graff (old school) and Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer (current). My favorite place to shop is Lands' End. My favorite superhero is Superman and my favorite muppet is Oscar the Grouch!
Education Bio:
St. John the Evangelist Elementary School, West Middle School, Binghamton High School, BS in Elementary Education with a Concentration in Natural Sciences/Chemistry from SUNY Geneseo, MS in Math, Science, and Technology Education from St. John Fisher College
